NASKA VS NOSE CLIP
Nose clips don’t block everything in your nose, but NASKA does
It’s a common belief that all the mucous membranes in the nose are located deep inside the nasal cavities, and that a nose clip can isolate them properly.
The reality is that right at the base of the nostrils there is an important mucous membrane called the "squamous" membrane. This membrane is particularly strong and protects the nose from environmental contaminants like dust, pollen, and chemicals in the air (and in the water for a swimmer). But despite its resilience, constant exposure to irritants can damage it, compromising its protective function.
The nose clip leaves the outer mucosa exposed to chlorine
Many swimmers use nose clips to prevent inhalation of chlorinated water, but these tools leave part of the squamous membrane exposed to chlorine.
Chloramines can penetrate the squamous membrane, causing irritation and inflammation. This can result in symptoms like sneezing, nasal congestion, and runny nose, known as rhinitis.
Constant irritation weakens the ability of the squamous membrane to protect the respiratory system, making swimmers more vulnerable to infections and allergies.

NASKA protects the ENTIRE nose, including the outer mucosa
Unlike traditional nose clips, NASKA covers the entire nose, protecting even the outer part of the nostrils. This prevents chlorine and chloramines from coming into contact with the squamous membrane, reducing the risk of irritation.
Nose clips block circulation, NASKA doesn’t
Blood circulation in the tissues of the nose prevents the accumulation of chlorine and irritants. The nose clip reduces blood flow
The nose clip applies constant pressure on your nostrils throughout your workout. This causes a reduction in blood flow, which creates the potential for chlorine buildup in the nasal mucosa.
NASKA allows blood to circulate freely
NASKA is custom-made and designed not to put pressure on your nostrils.
Blood circulation in the nose is not affected.
Any small amounts of chlorine that come into contact with the nasal mucosa are easily expelled.
The result is a more comfortable swimming experience and easier breathing during your workout.
Nose clips prevent you from exhaling normally
In all swimming disciplines practiced at a competitive level, it is recommended to inhale through the mouth and exhale through both the nose and mouth. The nose clip promotes mucus buildup in the nostrils
The nose clip forces swimmers to exhale only through their mouth, limiting natural airflow and promoting mucus buildup. This can lead to irritation, a blocked nose sensation, and discomfort, both during and after swimming.
NASKA doesn’t make you change your breathing style
With NASKA, you don’t need to change your breathing style: a valve allows air to exit through your nose. This lets you train with the correct breathing technique.
